By the way. The Phantom of The Opera play is opening in Princess Theatre starting from July 19, and gawd I am sooooo desperately wanting to go all opera-ish and watch it with tears in my eyes *ovedramatic yeah I know*. But hey, even the student ticket price is still far above my weekly budget. You can do heaps with a big A$70. Not so much, yet still it's quite an expense. Whatever. I think it's gonna be worth it anyway. Better start saving up! *sighs*

Another good news: my textbook list is complete and checked!!

...about classes...

Can anyone see the valid connection between continuing classes and water shortage?

Haha. Call this weird, people, but my classes today are cancelled in a sudden due to no water running in the campus area. And generally ALL afternoon classes are consequently postponed as well, until further notice which is still uncertain when.

Like I said. Can anyone see the connection between those two separate variables?
Aside from the annoying fact that I am beginning to sound disturbingly microeconomic-ish now, whew, I just don't see where the relevance of this odd decision is.

I mean, hey, t's not like we're gonna be using water as the general media of tutorials and lectures today anyway.

Whatever. I think I'm just gonna have to shut up and be happy that there is no class today.
Time to go have some fun! *laughs*

And oh yeah, the Monash College computer labs are kinda cool, btw. Haha. Surfing the net and blogging has never been this exciting. Laughing over water shortage, as my guilty conscience puts in. But hey, who cares? *winks*

...about books...

I have discovered one strange yet painfully true fact about college life just today. Well, except from the part where I realized that Building 73 of the Clayton campus is congested by people from the mainland China. No racist comment here whatsoever. I just wanna point out that wherever you go around the building, you'll definitely hear some Chinese spoken around you, either in hushed whispers or pronounced loudly between giggles.

Whatever. I'm getting awfully OOT here. Ok, back to the painfully true fact thingy...

Wtf. The textbooks that I need to purchase for tutorial classes, assignments, and exam materials cost significantly higher than the amount I need to pay my unlimited wireless internet bill. And the books aren't even brand-new; they're all poorly-maintained, savagely-priced secondhand copies! Whew. Imagine that.

What makes me even more reluctant in buying is the mind-blowing thought that I can similarly go crazy-shopping in Chadstone and end up going back home, all spent and exhausted, with a considerable amount of extra-cool stuff with that frikkin' A$650; something I consider much more worthy than wasting that yummy total on, gawd, brand-new, hard-covered lousy college textbooks!! The ones that I'm sure I won't even have a chance to familiarize myself with before they eventually have to move on to yet another common-college-student-minded-and-not-used-to-real-textbook user.

Tell me, now. Who in their right state will be willing to take out that much amount cash *gawd, my hearts aches even when I type* in exchange for those books? No offense. I just don't quite get the idea why.

Well, this is when I'm really thankful that there is such thing as a book-marketplace in my campus community. An online forum where you can actually find excellent bargains on good used books with much cheaper price. Thank God.

I thought I was gonna go broke and starve for the rest of the month due to purchasing, no, sacrificing all I was worth on those damned books. Now I can at least relax a little. Haha. Whatever. I don't know where this lame post is going to.

Anyway. I guess that's about it. Gotta go to sleep earlier so I can catch tomorrow's morning lecture.

Haha. You're damn right I'm overreacting. But yeah, I'm here now. At last. And after five long, torturous days of lame, lonely, non-Internet phase of existence, I can finally manage to re-connect my life to the rest of the world and do some proper updating for this blog. Call me weird, but I could actually survive! Should I congratulate myself for it then?

Wtf. Incessant rambling yeah I know.

Aaaaaaanyways... Melbie's truly FANTASTIC!! In just five days I've managed to memorize the Clayton-city routes for trains and buses, yet still I don't feel lifeless. The city's beautiful and bustling, with countless classic and modern buildings towering all around, blending in just a perfect way to create a state-of-the-art architectural combination. Quite diversely different from the good ol' jTown, to say the least. The people are friendly, the streets are congested yet surprisingly clean, the shopping centers are hip, Borders is the new bookworm groove, and of course Starbucks are everywhere!!! *laughs*



The weather's not quite pleasant though, what with the chilly cold and all [well it's winter fgs]. Four seasons in a day, as locals put in. You can have a warm sunny start in the morning, expect light showers in the afternoon, and experience extreme hailstorms for the rest of the evening. Imagine that! And this is just the beginning of the season. Quite moody huh?

Well, settling down is not that easy. But I think I'm gonna get through this just fine.
My Monash College classes start next Monday. A busy year's waiting excitedly for me! *sighs*

Oh, well. It's not like I can do anything about it anyway. I guess I'm just gonna have to get on with it and stop complaining.

Oh by the way, I'm currently in the middle of trying to copy the local Melburnian accent and adopt it as my tone. Kinda hard, though, especially the vocal sounds. Another beginner way of settling in, I guess. *grins*
